Primary Responsibilities

  • Dispenses central pharmacy in conjunction with and at the time of the client's visit, and monitors all of central pharmacy transactions to a degree of 100% accuracy.
  • Triages current clients who are having problems or questions regarding prescribed medication and maintains 100% accurate documentation of client contacts.
  • Provides accurate and complete verbal and written instructions for all medications prescribed by the psychiatrist during the client's visit.
  • Receives and manages telephone orders from the psychiatrist and calls them in to the pharmacy as per the psychiatrist's orders.
  • Provides services in the client's natural environment if needed. 
  • Maintains awareness of indigent care medication programs from various drug companies and assists clients in application for those programs.
  • Assesses all requests for emergency appointments and facilitates scheduling with the appropriate psychiatrist.
  • Conducts educational and therapeutic group sessions.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of treatment plans.
  • Determines appropriate disposition on monthly not-seen client lists and carries out that disposition within 90 days.
  • Trains other TCN staff for monitoring client self-administration of medication.
  • Meets or exceeds standards pertaining to services provided.
  • Meets or exceeds standards pertaining to documentation.
  • Develops and maintains quality, accurate clinical charts for all clients served.

Education, Certifications, and/or Experience

  • Degree(s) required by the State of Ohio to qualify for nursing licensure.
  • Registered Nurse
  • One or two years in behavioral health care field
  • Well organized, proficient with typing and computer skills
  • Eligibility for private insurance paneling is a plus
  • CPR/First Aid Certifications, De-escalation - TCN will provide upon hire
