Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides psychiatric services to adult and/or youth clients.
  • Prepares and attends to, in connection with such services, all reports, claims, and correspondence necessary and/or appropriate.
  • Maintains all continuing medical education requirements as required by the State of Ohio. 
  • Creates treatment plans for all clients.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with standards of ethics, practices, and competency for profession and within scope of licensure.
  • Performs utilization management activities in connection with the behavioral health services delivered to clients of TCN.
  • Accumulates the required number of billable hours of clinically allocated time based on Agency standards for position and profession.
  • Meets or exceeds standards pertaining to documentation.
  • Provides only those services that have been authorized by Utilization Management and provides services within the authorized frequency and duration of services.  Requests additional services when initial authorization has been met.
  • Documentation will provide sufficient reasoning for the type, frequency, and duration of services provided.
  • Progress Notes and other documentation clearly identifies consumer's input in services by having consumer's and parent's/guardian's (if applicable) signatures when clinically appropriate.
  • Completes progress notes concurrently during the session and signs all documents promptly
  • Develops and maintains quality, accurate clinical charts for all clients served.
  • Maintains license or registration appropriate to profession and appropriate to job requirement, including appropriate amount of continuing education at all times of employment.
  • Maintains agency-required annual training including, but not limited to, client rights and grievances, safety training, infection control, and others as required by ODMH/ODADAS.
  • Remains free from citations by other providers or by consumers for unethical practice and meets standard for own profession.
  • Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies, including compliance with all behavioral and ethical expectations.
  • Participates in at least 6 hours of supervision for every 3-month period or meets the requirements of supervision required by license/registration (whichever is greater).

Education, Certifications, and/or Experience

  • Education: Degree(s) required by State of Ohio for licensure as advance practice
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in the Behavioral Health Field
  • Certification: Holds a valid and unlimited license to practice nursing functions in the State of Ohio; has prescriptive authority in the State of Ohio (DEA); CPR
  • Other: Demonstrated competencies for working with adult and/or youth psychiatric populations.
